My family sessions are $500, which includes everything except physical prints, which you can purchase wherever you like. You’ll receive an online gallery of high resolution digital images, all in color and black and white. Galleries vary in size, but I give you all the good ones, so they’re usually around 70 images.
Sessions are about an hour, which lets us be relaxed and gives kids time to warm up! I won't be photographing that whole time, I spend a good amount of time chatting and just getting to know each other.
Typically I have sessions either in the clients' home, or at any one of a number of outdoor park locations. You can learn more about my approach to photography sessions in your home here.
I like to schedule outdoor sessions early in the morning or later in the evening, to get the best light. The specific time will depend on the time of year and sometimes the weather that day. In home sessions usually work best around 10am, but there is more flexibility there.
I'm always happy to provide guidance and resources beforehand on locations, wardrobe, etc. I generally don't work with props, and I don't do much stiff posing (It's no fun and it doesn't work for little kids, anyway!). I do some very loose posing; like I will ask you to stand/sit where the light is good and background is interesting, and arrange you in a way that makes a good photo composition, and then just have you guys interact/play/snuggle/tickle the kids, whatever. And for kid solo shots, I usually just follow the kids' lead, talk to them, ask them questions.
Basically, you don't really ever need to worry about whether your little one is "cooperating" because I don't expect them to do much except be themselves. :)
